In most cases, complaints must go through an Administrative Due Process hearing that can take anywhere from 3-5+ days, the complete process being approximately 60-90 days. A DPC takes an enormous amount of preparation and organization and sometimes an post appeal.
Procedural safeguards Section 1415(h) Allows parents to be advised and accompanied by an attorney or by individuals with special knowledge or training with respect to the child with the disability.

Another avenue to consider is with the Office of Civil Rights. They DO NOT take cases on IDEA per se'. But they do take FAPE denials through section 504 which shares the same definition of FAPE. Additional they will investigate discrimination through American with Disabilities ACT as well as retaliation complaints.
$555
A state complaint is filed with the State department of Education for Section 300 part B violations of IDEA ( which is ALOT). If your state department is corrupt , then there is no need to utilize this route or process.
