Education has always been an integral part of Alexis' family. Her father, with over 45 years of experience as a special education teacher, Principal, and SPED Director in NYC Public Schools and in Brick, NJ, is currently "retired" but serves as a Special Education Student Adviser and Mentor at Western Carolina University in Asheville, NC.
Alexis' mother, who holds a double master's degree from Columbia University in NY, has dedicated 20 years to serving as a LCSW School Social Worker and case manager for thousands of IEPs in NJ and is now retired in Lake Wylie.
As an athlete, Alexis felt a strong calling to teach Health and Physical Education in NJ, achieving Dual Certification. She earned her undergraduate degree in Kinesiology/Physical Education and has completed a master's equivalent of over 35 credits in Health Education.
With experience teaching over 500 students each year, she became deeply involved in IEP meetings and advocating for her students, particularly in her most meaningful class, Adaptive PE.
Alexis Also is Puerto Rican and Speaks Fluent Spanish.
Notably, Alexis is the first and only Pro Se Litigant to win a Due Process Hearing in South Carolina, achieving this both as a parent and as an Advocate. She has also successfully written appeals in the second tier of State Level Review. This experience, expertise, knowledge and wisdom regarding educational law and compliance can not be bought or taught.
This expertise extends to advising and assisting parents in the state of North Carolina's OAH as well, where she has also been successful in winning DPC's and has been successful in settling complaints prior to a hearing.
Her brother Justin is a Financial Compliance and Contract Attorney in NYC, and is CFO at DUB international, while his wife works as an Occupational Therapist.
Alexis' first cousin, who served as her maid of honor at her wedding, is an entertainment attorney in NYC working for companies such as Rock Nation, as the Chief of Staff. Her father, Alexis' uncle, a retired High School Principal. The family's rich legacy continues with other cousins, aunts, and uncles contributing to their extended network of educators, administrators, and attorneys.

Alexis and her family have lived in the Fort Mill/Indian Land area for over 12 years. You might remember her from Carberry Custom Color or Carolina Custom Color, where she worked as a designer and general contractor.
Now, as an advocate in the field of educational law, Alexis is dedicated to educating parents, students, staff, and teachers about their rights and what the law and case law state regarding a Free and Appropriate Public Education. She strives to hold school districts accountable when IEP goals, supports, therapies and services are less than satisfactory.
This Entity and its members are part of a community of advocates and educational consultants protected by IDEA, ADA, and Section 504 for special education students and parents with dispute resolutions against school districts.
